Sean Yuan, M.D., FACS
Dr. Sean Yuan is a bariatric surgeon specializing in minimally invasive weight loss surgery and medical weight management for patients in Pottstown and the surrounding areas. He is committed to helping patients overcome weight challenges and assist them in achieving long term success.
Dr. Yuan graduated from Beijing Medical University’s School of Medicine before completing a general surgery residency at Lankenau Hospital and Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital – both right here in the Keystone State. He then went on to complete a minimally invasive and bariatric surgery fellowship training at Richmond’s Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center.
As a board-certified surgeon and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Yuan is dedicated to meeting and exceeding the expectations of his patients. He has extensive experience in a wide range of minimally invasive weight loss procedures, including the LAP-BAND procedure, roux-en-y gastric bypass, and sleeve gastrectomy. Patients who undergo these laparoscopic procedures often recover with fewer complications and less post-surgical discomfort than those who undergo traditional surgical techniques.
Lisa Medvetz, M.D., FACS
Dr. Medvetz received her Medical Doctorate from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. She completed a general surgical residency at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, and fellowships in minimally-invasive surgery at Beth Israel Medical Center and trauma/surgical critical care at Cooper Hospital/University Medical Center. She also won top prize at the Beth Israel Medical Center Laparoscopy Fellowship in 2003.
Dr. Medvetz is a compassionate and skilled surgeon. She has over 15 years experience caring for surgical patients. She is specialized in gastric by-pass, sleeve surgeries and other minimally invasive general surgery procedures. Dr. Medvetz is also one of the few surgeons in the area who perform the Orbera intragastric balloon, and the Duodenal switch.
Dr. Medvetz is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. She is also a member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. She joined our practice to serve the community of Pottstown, Collegeville, and Phoenixville area.
Orlando Castillo, M.D.
Dr. Castillo is a board certified general surgeon who has dedicated himself to excellent patient care for over 20 years. He is experienced in challenging abdominal procedures such as recurrent small bowel obstructions from previous multiple abdominal procedures, difficult abdominal hernia repairs and colon cancer resections. He also has special interests in minimal invasive surgery and wound care.
Dr. Castillo received his medical degree from Cayetano Heredia University, Lima Peru. He finished his internship in general surgery at Staten Island University Hospital in New York and general surgery residence at Mercy Catholic Medical Center, Darby Pennsylvania.
Besides his busy clinical practice in general surgery and wound care, he teaches medical students and surgical residents. He is a clinical instructor for Drexel University and a faculty member of Mercy Catholic Medical Center. His hospital affiliations are: Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital, Riddle Memorial Hospital, Crozer System Hospitals and Pottstown Memorial Medical Center.
